Pumpkin Pie Spice
Pumpkin pie spice. The cornerstone of every fall treat and beverage. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s the defining taste and scent of fall. Just looking at the word fall conjures up its scent for me. I for one, love pumpkin pie spice everything. Once fall rolls around, I definitely ramp up my baking to make use of all the pie pumpkins hitting the shelves. But in the throes of excitement, I usually forget the most important ingredient: making sure I have pumpkin pie spice on hand. You all know what I’m talking about here. We’ve all been there. You start a pumpkin-themed recipe and you need pumpkin pie spice…and you don’t have it in your pantry, it’s night time, and the grocery store is just too far away right now. Thankfully, there is an easy fix for this problem. 🙂 You can make your own pumpkin pie spice in less than 5 minutes with spices that you likely do have on hand. Personally, I think this homemade pumpkin pie spice tastes better than store bought, and I will never purchase it again. The best part about making your own pumpkin pie spice though, is that you can play around with the ratios of the various spices to better suit your taste buds.

This pumpkin pie spice comes together in just 5 minutes, using spices that you already have on hand!
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
In a small storage container (I use a mason jar), mix all spices together. Store for up to 1 year.
